Ah, behold the dazzling realm of 1-5 Square, a.k.a. the Labor Square, in the fabulous Hoan Kiem district of Hanoi – because every city needs a spot where the streets of Tran Hung Dao and Quan Su decide to tango.

Now, brace yourself for the backstory. Once upon a time, this square was the VIP section of the old Fighting House – where, one fine day on May 1, 1938, they threw a bash to commemorate Vietnam’s first-ever International Labor Day. Imagine, 25,000 party animals showed up!
